Pope Francis announced today that Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, two young adult Catholics beloved for their vibrant faith and witness to holiness, will be canonized during two major Jubilee of Hope celebrations dedicated to young people. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati is a patron soon-to-be saint of the National Institute for Ministry with Young Adults. The surprise announcement was made at the conclusion of the Pope’s weekly general audience in St. Peter’s Square as he celebrated World Children’s Day.
The canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis will take place during the Church’s Jubilee of Teenagers (April 25-27, 2025)
The canonization of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will take place during the Jubilee of Youth (July 28-August 3, 2025)
